		<description>Hello Paul

Does the support for GPU acceleration in the latest turbocad make a significant difference? Is there a list of compatible/recommended gfx cards?

Thanks

		<description>Pete,

The ‘look’ of TC changed with v12. A have a couple of Deluxe versions of these in a cupboard somewhere, you’d be welcome to have one, although v12 was a bit problematic, because of vista coming out half way through its life prompting five patches. V14 just about sorted out the problems, but v15 was just about perfect.

However if it’s only 2D that you want then TC Designer v15 would suite you and I can sort you a copy for £20. If you want 3D as well, then I have just a few v14 left that you can have for £50.

I’m in the US on business right now, but will be back at my desk on the 7th Sept, give me a call and I’ll sort something for you.

		<description>Brian,

Sure, I can recomend them, even after using TurboCAD for a few years now, I always pick up something new when flicking through the pages.

However your best chance of moving forward is to book on a training day, November 18th would be perfect for you, give me a call.

		<description>Dear Paul

I bought TurboCad v9 to replace the DOS version I had used a great deal some 12 years or more ago. The new version was so different and un-intuitive that it has sat on the shelf until I have retired. In the interim all my drawing work has remained on A1 tracing paper with black ink. I am now looking for books/CD to teach myself how to use v9 since it is installed on my PC, but the versions have moved on.

Would it be a waste of time to buy (say) the 2D package for v16 as a way to get going with v9?

Regards

<description>My company - The Maidstone Players, have been using TurboCAD for a few years now, but I&#039;m sure that there is a lot in the program that we don&#039;t understand, do you think that the 3D training book would be of benifit to us?

		<description>Mike,

What you are trying to do is very simple, the easiest way to put you right is if you call me with the screen in front of you and I&#039;ll walk you through the process.

Or give me your number and a time to call.

		<description>Hi Paul,
I&#039;ve used Autocad for many years just as an &#039;amateur&#039; to prepare 2D plant layouts, process schematics etc. I&#039;ve recently started my own business and have bought Turbocad delux 17 to be able to open and work with Autocad drawings as I wanted to avoid the high cost of LT2011. After a lot of playing around I can get most of the toolbars set up the way I want, but some actions are very frustrating....for large layouts the dynamic pan in Autocad was the most usefull control to me and I can&#039;t find an equivalent in Turbocad, and also I can&#039;t find any way of doing an easy print of part of a drawing either to hard copy or PDF.(Autocat print...window... etc..) Can you help ? Time is in short supply these days and I can&#039;t really afford to devote several days to learning a new drafting package
BR

		<description>From Kevin Burke,
 Paul,
Thanks for your speedy reply to my question, yesterday I bought TurboCAD Deluxe 2D/3D but do not know (yet)what to do with it, my O/S is Windows 7 64 bit. I have NO experience in 3D CAD whatsoever .

My primary interest is Ships, particularly Warships, followed by Aircraft, then vehicles. My ONLY CAD &#039;experience&#039; has been a little 2D &#039;dabbling&#039; with Xara Xtreme. I would very much like to learn 3D modelling, after having seen the &#039;models at the following website:

(1) go to GOOGLE (2) click on THE DREADNOUGHT PROJECT and (3) click on MODELS -- you will see what I mean.

I notice in one of your sites you responded to an (almost) similar letter to mine. The letter was from &#039;Ken&#039; who was looking for a &#039;primer&#039; to get started from scratch also using TurboCAD 16 DeLuxe and he,too, had no CAD experience.

I mention his letter because of your reply to it which was:

(Quote) To call you on your number AND I&#039;LL LET YOU HAVE OUR 2D TRAINING BOOK FOR 25 QUID, THEY ARE EXCELLENT TO GET YOU GOING WITH VERY CLEAR TUTORIALS IN THE BOOK AND ON DISK (Emphasis mine).

Which book/s Disk/s are these, Paul? Are they your own teachings or TurboCAD copies? Please would you be so kind as to enlighten me on this as I definitely need assistance to get started in 2d/3D -- ESPECIALLY 3D.

Please give me details of your material, prices and postage and packing by Airmail to Australia. Thanks a lot,

Of course, but first I need to know if you want 3D or just 2D and what type of projects you intend to get involved in. CAD is a big field.
