Training centres and Off-Site Training

TurboCAD Training

We have training schemes to fit all needs.

Training Books

For those new to CAD systems we have training books that include training CDs. There is a 2D training book, which includes an introduction to 3D in the last chapters and a 3D training book. Both books are very clear and easy to follow. Where they mention a specific tool, an illustration showing where it can be found will be next to the instructions. Each book contains fourteen or fifteen sessions and the sessions are also contained as a PDF on a disk. The sessions can also be viewed ‘live’ with an audio commentary that makes learning TurboCAD just about as easy it can be. Each disk also contains over two hundred extra short films demonstrating how the individual tools work. The books can be found on this site and come at a discount when bought together.

Training Days in Winchester, Hampshire

At our offices in the centre of Winchester we run one and two day courses.  While complete beginners are welcome, it is advised that those attending have some experience to get the most out of the course. So best to buy one or two of the training books mentioned above and go through a couple of the exercises before attending.

Most of the courses are aimed at covering both the 2D and 3D aspects of the package and spend about half the time on each. There is time to look at drawings brought in from individuals to discuss best practice. Some courses have a narrower focus, such as 3D furniture making.

Numbers attending are limited to six. In this way we can tailor the course to fit the requirements of the group. We like to speak personally to each student before they attend to enable us to be fully prepared to deliver the most useful aspects of the package for the group.

Courses start at 10am and go straight through to 6pm in the centre of Winchester. A light lunch is provided. The cost is £170 + vat =£199.75

Training Days in Hungerford, West Berkshire

Richard Willis runs RWTC Ltd, a company with years of experience training various CAD programs from their training rooms in Hungerford. As well as TurboCAD, Richard is a qualified AutoCAD instructor and can therefore help with the transition from AutoCAD to TurboCAD.

RWTC can be found at www.rwtc.co.uk

TurboCAD Training for AutoCAD Users

A good percentage of our new customers are those previously trained for AutoCAD who are no longer prepared to pay AutoCAD prices. A brief telephone conversation normally reveals that TurboCAD fits all their needs at a fraction of the cost of AutoCAD and with no on-going licenses to pay every year. For AutoCAD LT users that defiantly want to stay in the 2D field and want to look at a familiar looking screen we have DoubleCAD. DoubleCAD looks just like AutoCAD LT, yet it is half the cost and with greater functionality. For those dealing in 3D you will find TurboCAD Professional far easier and quicker to use than AutoCAD. To help with the transition over to TurboCAD we have Ty Whiston. Ty is an institute accredited Instructor with Autodesk who has over the past few years been a freelance CAD Trainer/Consultant. He has wide experience in industry having worked for companies such as Lucas Electrical, Broadway Malyan (Architects) and British Aerospace etc. At the latter he was the CAD manager. Ty was also Senior Lecturer at Reading University of Further Education with responsibilities for preparing and delivering the CAD/CAM curriculum for degree students in the colleges across the South of England.

Off Site Training

Off site training can be arranged anywhere in the country. We have four CAD professionals with a wide range of experience and expertise in the fields of construction and engineering willing to travel to your place of work.

    Hi.

I am an architect practicing in Drogheda, Co. Louth, Ireland. I have been using AutoCAD for years, but as you are aware, it is very expensive. I purchased TurboCAD some time ago, but have never managed to master it sufficiently to be able to use it for live projects. Last year I upgraded to Version 15, but I don’t believe I will ever make the changeover without a proper course run by a professional trainer.

I am prepared to travel to Winchester, and I would appreciate if you would let me know what dates you will have one-day training sessions within the next few months. I work in 2D, and for the moment that is what I really need to get proficient at. Once that is sorted, I can think about the benefits of going 3D!

    Florence,

I generally don’t plan any training days for July and August as it’s so quiet, although I do have another who is asking so could you make the 29th July?
